Texas Hill Country

Image of winery in Texas

Welcome to the North Texas Hill Country. Yes, that’s what I said!!!

From I35 at Gainesville, Texas towards Nocona, on US 82 to US 287 south, towards Alvord. When headed west on US 82, watch for the signs that will lead you to some true gems. Blue Ostrich Winery & Vineyards and Arche Winery & Vineyards. Blue Ostrich will be your 1st stop (use that GPS). Once reaching Blue Ostrich you will meet up with rolling hills and valleys…. very picturesque scenery.

Once you’re at the winery, stop in and pick up a great bottle of wine, or just sit down and have a glass of wine while enjoying the scenery, the serenity, and the friendly atmosphere. Be sure to say Hi to Pat, Julie, and Presley.

Once leaving out of Blue Ostrich, you will be taking a right toward Saint Jo. Along that path and not too far away is another one to visit: the 4R Vineyards and Winery. Keep your eyes peeled for this one also. When arriving in Saint Jo, just follow the signs to another surprise, Arche Winery & Vineyards. When driving to Arche, you will be amazed by the rolling hills and beautiful scenery. Once you have arrived, look up Amy, Howard, or Grayson. Once again, pick-up a bottle of wine and sit down and enjoy a glass or two and take in the friendly atmosphere.

After leaving Arche, it will be a must to stop in the truly unique Texas town of Nocona. There you will find great restaurants, shops, and a really cool car museum that will take you back in time. This town is very much worth the stop. Oh, and pick up a pair of handmade boots at James Montaque. When leaving Nocona, take 175/59 to Bowie, Texas, get on US 287, head south about 15 miles, and watch the signs for Brushy Creek Vineyards on your left. Stop in and enjoy some wine, pick-up a bottle or two and say hi to Les and Candy.

When visiting these wineries be sure and say “Hey” from Garry at Custom Wine Packaging….true friends….Cheers !!!
